Federal Nutrition Programs & Kinship/Grandfamilies Series: Summer Nutrition Programs
June 9, 2026
As the price of many foods remains high, many grandfamilies and kinship families may face challenges in putting food on the table. Federal nutrition programs can help kin caregivers stretch limited budgets and ensure their families have the food they need to thrive. Join experts from the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) for a four-part series of “office hours” style webinars where you can learn about federal nutrition programs, ask questions, and share experiences from your community.
Kelsey Boone, Senior Child Nutrition Policy Analyst at FRAC, will discuss key topics related to the Summer Meals Program and Summer EBT. She’ll share tools and tips to help grandfamilies and kinship families access these programs and highlight how service providers can leverage federal dollars to provide meals to children and teens.
As social service agencies and policy makers grapple with increasing demands for grandfamily and kinship housing, this webinar features two organizations that are providing much-needed housing for grandfamilies.
Join us for a panel discussion with kin caregivers on traumatic life experiences from their perspective, and how agencies can best support them and their families.
Network Subject Matter Experts, Noah Duncan and Jack Tait of Foster Insights, will provide practical strategies for using data to ensure that your agency is engaging kinship caregivers wherever possible.
