The Database of Funders, created for the Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network by our partners at USAging, contains over 600 non-governmental organizations that provide funding in an array of focus areas that relate to kinship/grandfamilies. Potential recipients of this funding include nonprofits; educational institutions; faith communities; Tribal entities and governments; fiscally sponsored organizations; organizational collaborations; and state, county, and local governments.
Each funder profile includes basic information about the funder’s priorities, the types of projects the funder supports, eligible applicants, eligible states, and funding ranges (and/or a notation if in-kind gifts are offered). When information is unavailable for a specific category, it is listed as “unspecified.” Additional information – like counties of focus, when specified – is provided for some funders. You may search for a funder by name.
The list of funders featured in the database is not exhaustive. The database only includes funders that have a web presence and that generally accept unsolicited requests. Not all funding opportunities offered by a funder may be listed. Most of the grants/donations included are ongoing or recurring. The database does not include listings of corporate sponsorships, corporate matches of employee donations, crowdfunding, donor advised funds, or individual giving.
All information about the funders was gathered from funders’ websites and was accurate at the time of publication of the Database of Funders. However, funders’ application requirements and funding priorities may change, and we encourage you to consult each funder’s website for the most current information.
