  • Corporate Foundations are created and funded by corporations but are separate from the corporation that funds them. They are a type of private foundation and, like other private foundations, they must also pay out at least five percent of their assets each year in the form of grants and operating charitable activities.
  • Corporate Giving Programs are part of the corporation that funds them. How much a corporation gives, how often, and even whether they give at all is decided by the corporation. Gifts may be higher when profits are up and lower (or non-existent) when profits are down.
