As the price of many foods remains high, many grandfamilies and kinship families may face challenges in putting food on the table. Federal nutrition programs can help kin caregivers stretch limited budgets and ensure their families have the food they need to thrive. Join experts from the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) for a four-part series of “office hours” style webinars where you can learn about federal nutrition programs, ask questions, and share experiences from your community.
Join this session to learn about ways to improve nutrition with early childhood nutrition programs. Clarissa Hayes, Deputy Director, Child Nutrition Programs & Policy will cover the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), which can be used to provide meals and snacks at child care centers and family child care homes. Susan Beaudoin, Senior Program Manager, WIC, will discuss the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), which caregivers can use to provide healthy foods and other services for the infants and children under age five in their care.
